Rogue Ware

On the rise is Malware that is being called "Rogue Ware" this is software that appears to be legitimate spyware or virus removing software. Of course in order to remove the actual spyware on the computer the company want a fee.
Here is the list of Anti Spyware products that I trust.
Ad-Aware.
Web Root Spysweeper.
Spybot S&D
PestPatrol

Just I was in the process of trying to create a list of Rogue Ware products. I eventually discovered that this list would be a pain in the rear. General advice...If you don't know the reputation of the product don't install. Ask for advice on what software you need. Most "Rouge" applications are after 1. Your money 2. Your information (that may be used to steal you identity) 3. Install other malware on your computer (bot-net)

Here is a link to a site that maintains a semi-updated list of malware

Also Ben has great information on his web page.

Here is a the latest rash running around the Rouge ware community. All appear to be legitimate but they are not.

Be careful.
